看來用ATI顯卡的人還是不少的,像8500這樣的經典顯卡如果不能在X下運行3D游戲實在可惜了。
!!說明1:本文只適用於8500及以上顯卡,ATI 官方並未提及對Radeon / 7000 / 7200/ 7500的支持。
!!說明2:RedHat9已經對ATI顯卡有良好的2D支持,同時也一定程度的支持3D加速,如果你不屬於(1、已經能夠進入X但需要良好的3D加速,同時有足夠的DIY精神;2、使用Redhat8及以下,缺省的X設置不能識別9100,9200之類的新標號;3、以上均不是,就是喜歡折騰)這幾種情況,請不要輕易嘗試更改X配置,雖然很簡單,但是還是有一定的危險性,如果出現“安裝了ATI驅動程序後我進不了X”之類的問題,請自己解決。
!!說明3:無論如何先備份/etc/X11/XF86Config,除非你本來就進不了X
本文舉例的配置是:操作系統:RH9;顯卡:第三方9100;顯示器:Philips 107P;P4-2G
另外一台機器:操作系統:RH9;顯卡:第三方8500LE(Powered by ATI);顯示器:LG-L1510S;Athlon 1700+同樣可以安裝並正常使用3D功能;
一、下載驅動程序,到這裡

選擇對應自己的X的版本的程序下載。
二、解壓安裝
